Munich, July 11th, 2017. Venue: The State Collection of Antiquities and Glyptothek. A meeting of famous characters: Strong characters, in an artistic as well as a historical sense. The exhibition will be opened with a speech by Dr Ludwig Spänle, Bavarian State Minister for the Arts.

In the only museum in the world to be devoted exclusively to sculptures from ancient Greece and Rome, the character heads from this exciting time are shown in their proper light. Military commanders, statesmen, philosophers… Only one of their number has the honour to shine in the light of a fine-textured painting in gold leaf, a GOLDEN FIELD by Winfried Muthesius. Who is it?
